Fruit Of The Spirit

In a nutshell this is what you’re going to produce when you’re in Jesus.

It won’t be by your own works. If you put your trust in Jesus and allow him to guide you these are the things that’ll come to pass in your life.

You Are Not Destined For Wrath!

I’ve got news for you. God is not looking to punish you. Gos is looking to save you, he has your best interest at heart.

Handling Stress

We all struggle with stress, and issues in our lives. It’s easy to feel overwhelmed, and at times we might even feel like giving up. Below is a good verse about what to do with it.

You might struggle giving it to Jesus, or you find yourself wanting to take it back, or you take it back with out being consciously aware of it.

Here are some words I learned from another source that really helps me. ‘I don’t need this, I don’t accept this, this is not from God, I send this away’.

Take for example, if you’re struggling with an addiction. Or you get surrounded by people with addictions. And you don’t want to cave. Or you really want to help somebody, but you feel overwhelmed by it all. If you feel called to help the person you can use this strategy.

When you use this strategy remember to replace it with something positive, ie; I am speaking freedom over my life. I have no more strong holds in my life.

Tell yourself you are strong and courageous, and because Jesus is inside you, you have already won every battle you could face!

I have used this strategy countless times and it has been exceedingly helpful.

Another strategy I have used is to remind myself to stay in peace.

Let’s say you’re having a conflict with your spouse or someone else you love. You could go to a different room, calmly shut the door and remind yourself ‘stay in peace’.

Just be aware, issues won’t magically disappear immediately when you do that, at least not always. But gradually, things will start to change. And you’ll also notice a change inside you.

I have used that one plenty of times as well. You wouldn’t believe how that has changed my relationships. I have had total relationship make overs using these strategies.

Not only that, but my sence of peace and well being has grown by leaps and bounds using these strategies.

And if you knew half the struggles I have had in my life you would know, or at least have an idea of how significant that is.

That was with the help of Jesus guidance, and listening to those pastors I brought up in one of my earlier posts. They’re still there with the links if you’re interested.

What Is Love?

What is love? The best definition is in the verses below. I couldn’t explain it better myself.

What does it look like? Read the gospels (Mathew, Mark, Luke, and John) in an easy to read version and focus on the example Jesus sets. No one could demonstrate love better than he has in the gospels. And when you sincerely seek Jesus and his love, you will experience it for yourself.

We as followers of Christ are supposed to set the example of who Jesus was, and is. But we fail at that, as we are not Jesus. No one can be a substitute for him.

However, if we walk in Jesus, he will empower us, (enable) us to be able to walk in love a whole lot better than if we try to do love with out him.

Our own definitions of love pale in comparison to his great love.

I would just like to remind you to always read your bible. If you know and believe the truth about God and his marvellous love, then you can not be deceived.

You will then be on your way to fulfilment and an awesome life.

You Belong!

When you accept Jesus as your saviour you have belonging.

We all like to have some place where we belong. If we Don’t feel we belong we won’t spend much time there, as far as it depends on us.

Why Come To Jesus?

Why should people come to Jesus?

Jesus will by no means force you to come to him. You can try to live your life with out him, but you will have no life, really! It’s kind of like going through your life having absolutely no friends, no family, no one to turn to when you need help and support.

You can say, ‘I don’t need any help or support. 😏 Really?! Even if you’re doing good right now, there will come a time when you will need someone. What will you do on the day when you hit rock bottom and you need someone, and every one you know desserts you? Or even if someone wants to help, but they have no means to help you.

I heard it said that often people with out Jesus have an empty place in their heart they can’t fill.

That empty place is reserved for Jesus.

Have you ever gone anywhere where the seats are reserved? Or where there is a section of seats reserved? That seat can only be filled by the person it’s reserved for, no one else can fill that seat. And lets say that function goes on with out that person who the reserved seat is for, that function ends in disaster because someone else tries to ‘fill in’ for that missing person. Because the proper functioning of the function is dependent on the person for whom the seat is reserved.

That’s kind of what it’s like to try to fill that empty space with something or someone other than Jesus.

Born Again

What does it mean to be born again?

When I first became a ‘Christian’ I didn’t know what it meant to be ‘born again’. I hadn’t heard of it until some one asked me that question. I didn’t want to appear stupid, and I was afraid I would get false information if I asked so I said I was.

It wasn’t until years later, after some growth and more research that I found out what it meant.

After you repent of your sins and accept Jesus as your saviour you are a new person. You’re not a remake of something you used to be. So you are born again. Because you are no longer being led by ‘the flesh’, meaning it’s not your intellect guiding you anymore, You are then being guided by Jesus, through faith. You put your trust in Jesus, he guides you through life. So, you are born again.

Again, I’d like you to refer to the links on my How to know when God Is Leading You page. And click the links for more info. These pastors have explained this extensively. This is just a nutshell.

And always, always, always refer to your bible so you are not led astray.

My goal is to motivate you to read your bible. If you don’t have one, get one. You can download the free youversion app. That’s a very good app to have. you can listen to the bible on there, and there are many versions, and languages you can choose from.

I used to pray this specific prayer every day. I felt suppressed because I felt I couldn’t express myself properly.

I learned at some point that he wasn’t saying to repeat these exact words every day, but that this was a guide line. To acknowledge God as our Father, to have reverence for him etc.

See my post How To Know When God Is Leading You

It has a list of resources for more comprehensive explanations on any topic.

However, I have learned that he wants us to talk to him like he’s our ‘daddy’. We can talk to him about our day, and what ever else we want to talk to him about.

How To Relate To God

How do you relate to God? Many people don’t know how to relate to God. Some people have a very religious way of relating to him. Like he’s some dictator up in heaven wagging his finger at people and dictating every aspect of their lives.

The bible says he is the Father to the fatherless. And there are more references to God as our Father. He wants to relate to us as his precious family members, not as a religious dictator.

Imagine a father that absolutely adores you, or if you can’t imagine a loving father because of how your own father was, imagine then some one, a mentor, an uncle, some one who you can relate to, or imagine one, if you read the bible it’ll give you a description of what love is; But imagine the most loving being and having a relationship with them.

When you go to those people, or that person, you don’t go to them with religious jargon, Ei, ‘lets talk to our brethren and see what their up to.’ Or when you talk to your parents and say ‘do thou want to come over?’ Or ‘how are thou doing?’ Or when you were still living at home, and if you would ask for some thing, you wouldn’t say ‘will thou allow me to go to the dance?’ or ‘will thou give me money?’ Can you imagine having such conversations with your parents? Or with other religious jargon?

Of course we want to have reverance for God. We respect him as our heavenly Father. And yet he also wants us to be personal with him.

Jesus demonstrated to us in the prayer he recited. (I’ll speak more on prayer another time). I just wanted to emphasize that Jesus modelled to us prayer. Read the book of Matthew.

Anyhow, my prayer life has improved greatly with Gods help and guidance. He at times used other resources to do it, such as sermons from different pastors, the bible and others.

My whole point here is that God wants to make his relationship with you a personal one.

You Are Valuable!

You are valuable!

God wants you to feel good about yourself. If you go around feeling bad about yourself you’re not going to have the confidence to live your dreams. God wants you to wake up every day with joy, confidence and a healthy sense of self worth.

People who go around feeling bad about themselves won’t have the capacity to help others feel good about themselves. Often what happens is they end up hurting other people because they are hurting inside. So one of the most important areas that you need to work on first is to know and believe Gods love and value for you.

I’ve heard many people say they don’t believe God loves them, or they don’t feel Gods love for them.

I’ve got news for you, you won’t feel Gods love until you believe Gods love. Get into scriptures, listen to sermons, everything you need to do to get in a place where you know and believe Gods love for you. Then you will feel it.

How To Know When God Is Leading You

How do you tell when God is leading you? We all have this internal ‘voice’.

Some of you might remember watching the Flinstones growing up. Fred always had this ‘great gazoo’ on his shoulders giving him direction. It was almost like Fred had a robot conscience.

Well, we have this internal ‘gazoo’ happening in our life; Just so you know I’m not in the least bit saying that we have a robot for a conscience, or have someone sitting on our shoulders telling us what to do. I’m just using that as an analogy to help you understand, and to picture what it is I am saying.

Here’s what I am saying, we have this internal ‘feeling’ in our heart that guides us. You know that feeling you get when you’re about to do some thing you shouldn’t do? And if you do it anyway, you have this really guilty feeling inside, among other possible consequences. And you try to cover up what you did because of the guilt.

Or, you listen to that ‘feeling’ and you feel a real peace, you find that you are really glad you made that choice, and as a result you have things going for you. Meaning you have positive consequences.

Well, that’s God giving you direction. The more you listen to his direction and obey it, the stronger that ‘feeling’ becomes. But if you repeatedly ignore it and do what you want to do, the harder it’ll be to ‘feel’ it.

Here’s some great resources for you.

Impact ministries is founded by Jim Richards; a great pastor who teaches you ‘how’ to apply truth in your life. It’s more comprehensive than that. Listening to him could change your life. He already has changed countless lives.

If you’re afraid you’re going to ‘get stuck back in religion, that’s even more reason to listen to him. He teaches you how to renew your mind with out getting you stuck back in religion. And if you currently are stuck in religion and want out, with out compromising Godly values, he’s a very good resource.

God used him to help me get to a better place in my life. It is safe to say that listening to him changed my life.

Joel Osteen is another really good resource. If you like listening to pastors with a sense of humour, or need a really good pick me up, he’s a great resource as well.

If for what ever reason they don’t jive with you, Andrew Farley is another good one. He teaches the gospel with out religion.

You can also look them up on Youtube. There’s plenty of free sermons there, or you can download podcasts for free.

I also want to add this; This blog is not by any means for self gain. My soul purpose for this one is to help you live better lives.

This is a free blog, so there might be ads on it, but I did not monetize this one.

Thank You for your time and attention.

God Bless You.

Andrew Farley, on top, second, Jim Richards, third, Joel Osteen. So you know when you found the right pastors (the ones I shared about in this blog).

The Change Is For You!

Good morning all!

I just wanted to clarify some things. I’m not implying that you ‘have to change!’ Not for me, not for God. The change is for your benefit. What benefit is there in being the same person you’ve always been all your life?

You are your own person and you can choose to change so you can have peace with yourself and others, or you can stay the same and live with a ‘chicken’ mentality.

for a full explanation of ‘chicken’ mentality see my blog

note: you’ll see an ad first, but you have the option to skip the ad.

This blog is intended to help people. If you’re one of those people who insists that you never need any help then this is not for you. Close the blog and ‘walk away’. Just remember, God will deal with you sooner or later. You might say, ‘I don’t believe in God’. That’s too bad because God believes in you. He loves you too much to leave you where you are. His goal is not to change you so you can be acceptable to him. His goal is to change you so you can live with yourself. Out of spite you might say, ‘I can live with myself!’ 😏

Can you, really! Look at yourself in the mirror and ask yourself if that’s really true. If you already have a healthy relationship with Jesus Christ your savior, with God your Father, and with yourself, and have a repentant attitude then I’d say that’s true. But if you don’t, let me be of help to you.

What qualifies me to help people have a healthy relationship with God and themselves? Nothing. Only God himself can do that, and you if you decide to let him (he will never force himself on you in any way, shape or form).

So why am I trying to help people if I’m not qualified? Because God is, and his spirit lives inside me. I am animated by Jesus through faith. No, it’s not like I’m a puppet and he’s the puppeteer. I still make my own choices, he just guides me and helps me make the best choices for me. He doesn’t force me to be anything, I choose to allow him to guide my life so I can benefit others and myself.

I could go on forever about Gods marvellous love, and how it would benefit you. But I’ll cut it short for today. I know really long blog posts are hard to read ‘till the end, so stay tuned for more.

For those of you who have a hard time seeing these verses; this is what it says:

Romans 5:1-5 therefore, having been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom also we have obtained our introduction by faith into his grace in which we stand; and we exult in hope of the glory of God. And not only this, but we also exult in our tribulations, knowing that tribulation brings about perseverance; and perseverance, proven character; and proven character, hope; and hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured out with in our hearts through the holy spirit who was given to us.

I don’t want to leave you with out the opportunity to ask Jesus into your heart. Repeat this; Jesus, I repent of my sins, come into my heart, I accept you as my Lord and Saviour.

When you do this, you are born again. To keep this post from getting too long, I’ll talk about being born again in another post. But you got a good start with what you read here.

I love you all!💝 Have a wonderful day!
